It sounds like your device lacks a proper home key and the "home" key is just remapped to the back key. That's usual on certain e-ink devices, like new Onyx. Applications are not allowed to remap the home button.
What you can do to workaround the stupidity of your manufacturer is disable "back history". See

If you disable back history the new behaviour would be:
on FM, press the fake home button once to exit the app (FM->launcher)
on Reader, press the fake home button twice to exit the app (Reader->FM->launcher)
Maybe I didn't understand you and your device has a non faked home button. In that case it should work as is to return to your launcher. The rest of the keys can be remapped on a per-device basis. See
