I have bought numerous older Kindle readers (K1 through KT and K NT) on ebay and only one was blacklisted. Seller took it back without a problem and if they had not then I would have put in a defective merchandise claim to ebay and reported the seller for selling lost or stolen goods. Not sure if the ebay guarantee applies to foreign purchasers.

Amazon Woot also has some good buys on Kindle readers on occasion. I got a 32GB Kindle PW Manga from them a couple of years ago. At the time only available from Amazon Japan normally.
