No need for parental controls. I don't have anything like that turned on. Its just a feature. There are a lot more stats in the android app. I get a daily reading streak gong back to July 2018. And a weekly streak going back to same month.
I get a chart with days read per month, and other stuff. They even incorporate how many books I have read so far. Don't know yet if its the same as I have on goodreads but doesn't look that way. All you have to do is mark them as read, which I have it set to do automatically. It is all under "more" in the app under Reading Insights.
I get something on my kindle too. It is not as detailed. It just gives me a monthly run down on I think how many days I read. i can't recall now as its not always there. Its in the home view page on the kindle, the first 2 pages you get before the library. I only read on my kindles and only use the app to check out recs or books on sale and such things as I get notifications. I don't read on my phone.
So both, app and kindles for me. Just much more data on app.
