Death Below Stairs is the first in the Kat Holloway/Below Stairs series by Jennifer Ashley (although there's a novella floating around in this series that might be a prequel ????). It has dropped from its usual price up around $10 to $1.99 at Kindle and Kobo US.

I've not read any of the titles in this series (see $10 above ), but I've read and enjoyed almost all of the titles in Ashley's Captain Lacey series.
