It was definitely a HANG, with the cover download screen showing but an infinite bunch of little rotating circles supposedly attempting to connect, which lasted at least 5 minutes (I got tired of waiting). No drift that I noticed. I've had drift when updating versions, but never with cover download.
However, it seems to be back to normal today -- I've just successfully tested it on several items that didn't work over the weekend.
Strange issue, but it seems to have gone away. Thanks to all of you who attempted to identify the issue, I do appreciate your ideas.
