Golden in Death.
FWIW, after reading and being okay with (but not more) some early books in this series in DTB many years ago, I recently got a chance to read an ARC of
Golden in Death, and liked it more than I expected to - the police procedural elements were better than I remembered and the romance-y elements were less distracting (and easily skimmed over) than I remembered. So although I'm still debating, I probably will buy these myself
