@VladimirS: I agree with everything you wrote. Adding to point 2 the best way for me to do this was using a thing fishing (nylon) wire to get under the battery to cut the glue. Use it only parallel to the screen, that will reduce the forces working on the screen.

Edit: Better to use a thinner battery. If those batteries blow up they will break the screen.
