The Reality: Our hierarchical world has hard-set rules and boundaries. Socioeconomic and personal change (for the better) is slow and gradual. It requires hard work, a lot of self-sacrifice, patience, and quite a bit of luck.

The fantasy: Use your gifts and resources to romance (e.g., inspire, entice, beguile) targets of opportunity--promise the fulfillment of needs, wishes and desires--deceitfully dangle carrots before your desperate victims... And control, manipulate or exploit at will.
