I don't really understand what "higher-quality metal" means. Why is metal seen as higher-quality than plastic these days? To me, metal has always had a connotation of cheapness... probably due to exposure to cheap metal kettles etc when young and poor. (We couldn't afford expensive stuff sheathed in *plastic*, oh no...)

(But my objection to the metal back is not that it seems cheap -- it doesn't. It's the thermal conductivity. I mean, yes, it's mostly fixed with a Fintie skin, but while the result is no longer actually painful, it still doesn't feel as nice as the plastic-and-rubber combo of the original Oasis -- mostly because of the rubber backing on the thicker wedge.)
