Maindron, Maurice: Ce bon M. de Véragues [FRENCH]

A short novel that sometimes gives the reader the impression that it may have been written by Maurice Maindron (1857-1911) for children and young adults. Quite different from the atmosphere of lustful violence more typically found in such novels as Saint-Cendre, M. de Clérambon, Blancador, Florimond, or the Tournoi de Vauplassans.

The original scanned pdf found on the online site of the Bibliothèque Nationale de France (Gallica) is of better quality than expected and has some nice illustrations to boot (not reproduced in the e-book).

The e-book is also available from this site in .pdf format specially formatted for legibility on e-readers and small tablets.
