I wonder if this particular title fell out of copyright somehow in the US or something?

In the UK the Philip MacDonald titles that are available are pub by Collins Crime Club, with a few Collins Crime Club available in the US as well. (The Noose is $3.99 in the US, which I scarfed up a while back...)

But MacDonald didn't pass away until 1981, so his titles shouldn't be PD in the US, and most don't seem to be. I wonder if Spitfire Publishers LTD really have rights to this edition, which was pub 2 days ago, or if it's somehow in the PD for some other reason.

Maybe someone else knows more?
