There is probably a security feature where the padmu software will only install on devices actually released and configured by Padmu. That is more than possible. And if Onyx is selling their hardware as is to someone who wants to put their own software on it, I can only imagine Onyx and Padmu agreed on these terms to prevent people from buying one company's labour (firmware) and getting both company's labour (firmware) for the same price.
I would abandon hope nice a fast on this port. Unless PadMu releases their source code, we will never get that ported. And I highly doubt they will, since the source code is their entire business. They can only resell hardware because of it. All their profits come from it. Why would they knowingly allow users of Boox products to get access to that for free?
