I've read the whole thread from beginning tonight even though I'm not directly affected as I don't own a Kindle. But in my mind this isn't a way to deal with customers generally and with early adopters especially.

For the future I'll buy my p-books from other stores than Amazon. We have fixed book prices here in Germany regardless of the book shop you buy from, so it won't hurt to buy from other stores. At first I'll try it for, say, a year and look how things work out.

IMO the only way to argue with such companies is by letting your wallet talk, and that's what I'll do.
