I would like to have the possibility to sort on several columns
For example: sort by author, then by year published and then by title
The first sort would be done as now: just click on the column heading
A 2nd click on the same heading changes the sort sequence (ascending/descending)
The additional functionality would be as follows:
CTRL-click on a 2nd column to add is as 2nd sort criteria in ascending sequence
A 2nd CTRL-click on the same column changes the sort sequence
A 3rd CTRL-click on the same column removes the column from the sort criteria
That same logic should be applied to the other columns available to add/remove/change sort criteria

You can already do this. Each time you sort a column, the previous sort is done within the new sort. This works for several levels. I think there is a tweak to set the number. And you might want to look at the View Manager plugin. I has some extra ways to handle the sorting.
