Entities might be thought of as "Metadata about Metadata"

Entities are "bookless". They are not "linked" to any book directly, such as a custom column value or an Author or Title or Series must be in Standard Calibre.

Entities are not books' Metadata. They might be viewed as "Metadata about books' Metadata".

I think you need to carefully re-read the Original Post, and examine its attached images in light of the above statements.

Example: you can create an Entity for some or all of a Library's Authors, adding many Links to various web sites (or even files on your drive), and Notes that are textual and have a name for each Note to identify its purpose or context.

If you delete all of the books in the above Library, the Entities would remain untouched, including their Links and Notes. They are not directly linked to books.

If you added a book back to that Library for which there was an Entity created earlier (Entity = Entity-Type + Value), and its Author is the same as a pre-existing Entity (Entity = 'Author' + 'the name of the author'), all of the Links and Notes about that Author (who is an Entity) would be still available for use.

Entities are not a book's Metadata, so they cannot be "saved" to the disk or "copied" to another Library like books are.

You can create a textual document of all Entities, their Links and Notes, and their Associations (which are also Entities), and copy it into a Document for reference when perusing any other Library or for any reason at all.

See the example Entity listing attached below.
