It's $235 per day for a private room, $217 semi-private self-pay, so $7,000+

Medicaid pays for a semi-private room, so you pay the difference if you want a private room.

When I was POA for a great aunt in the 90's, her nursing home (self-pay) was $105 per day. Times 5 years. She had $250,000 when it started, there was about $55,000 left when she died. It was right when investments had tanked here in the states. So the 8% it had been earning also went in the dumper at the same time.
