Hi fbrzvnrnd. Thanks for all the feedback. I'm still clueless and have no way to try/debug myself. Google is pushing hard to make developers deprecate apis14/15, specially for ndk applications. Emulator is broken since standalone sdk/Eclipse days.
To play with ICS I have to install really legacy emulator and sdk into a VM because it clashes with newer tools bundled with android studio. I did that once but I think I doesn't worth the hussle anymore.
In short: please stay with the patch.lua method. It should work on your device across different versions and does survive updates.
