Hi peter0conor. Yes, is too complicated so is not a realistic option.

If you use a dedicated VM *just* to run Calibre then switch to a modern one which fullfits the software requisites. If you're deploying other services for lan/wan then stick with your VM and use 3.x or deploy 4.x in a docker container.
