From the state of your original, unedited message (i.e., PWD being Windows' System32 folder o_O), I'm going to go with: PEBCAK.

I don't know what, exactly, but you probably did something wrong somewhere ;p.

So, first things first: on the final reboot (i.e., dots on a white background), did you see a "[KFMon] Successfully initialized

" message near the bottom of the screen? (You'll need to be watching for it, it may only flash for a very short while).
Feel free to force a hard-reboot to check again
