Database issues perhaps? Do you still have your serial connection? If so, enter these commands:

rm -f /var/local/cc.db
rm -f /var/local/dcm.db
Restart your Kindle. That will erase any collections, bookmarks, progress, etc.

If you don't have your serial connection still, you can install kterm:
https://www.fabiszewski.net/kindle-terminal/

Download kterm 2.5, extract to your extensions folder and launch via KUAL. Then enter the above commands and restart.
