Then I needed a memory card for my kindle fire so I decided to swap out the kobo sd card to the fire. The SD card reformated fine but later I got a warning about the SD card being too slow. Since I don't plan on watching movies on my fire tablet is it safe to leave the kobo sd card or is it simply too slow/old?
No idea. That is probably a question for the Kindle forum. Someone there might be able to tell you what the minimum specs required for the Fire is.
