Page Count, Genre, No-Buy Year

  • Read 50,000 pages
  • Read at least 10 non-fiction books
  • Don't buy any new books until I've read 100 books that I already own

I tried to mix the challenging with the not-too-incredibly-challenging. A more detailed breakdown of my challenges:

Read 50,000 pages
832/50,000

Spoiler:
Looking at my GoodReads history, I tend to read approximately 30,000 pages across ~80 or so books in a calendar year. I'd like to get up to 50,000, which I do expect to be quite challenging -- but all it really takes is stepping back from my video game addiction just a little bit, really!

Read at least 10 non-fiction books
1/10

Spoiler:
I don't expect this will be too difficult at all. I only really started to read non-fiction in 2019, but I quickly developed a love for both mountaineering and true crime books. Fortunately enough, my mother has a staggering collection of the latter, so I'll be spoiled for choice every time I visit her!

Don't buy any new books until I've read 100 books that I already own

Purchased: 0
Read, owned: 1/100

Spoiler:
This goal will absolutely take more than just one year, but let's try to keep me accountable for this year! I have a big problem with buying new books when I absolutely do not need them. I have well over a hundred paper books that I've yet to read, let alone the growing digital pile (which I'm frankly afraid to check the tally on). Kindle Unlimited and library books won't count towards this total, otherwise I'll cheat and breeze through 100 pulpy KU romance novellas. I know what I'm like!

Finally, a spoiler tag under which I'll list everything that I read:

Spoiler:
#. Title, Author (Genre) KU/B(orrowed)/O(wned)

1. Dark Imperium, Guy Haley (Sci-Fi) O
2. The Mystery of the Exploding Teeth and Other Curiosities from the History of Medicine, Thomas Morris (Non-Fic) B
