I have made a point of purchasing books from authors who in my opinion share the fair pricing and open spirit of digital publishing. There's so many good authors out there. I currently have a backlog of books (about 45 to read). However all said and done I've only spent less than $15. I'm reading alot of free books, but if I find an author who is like minded about electronic publishing by making supportive statments, I buy outright.
As for amazon books, I've downloaded the 1st chapter on a few books that I think MIGHT interest me. I would pass them by if it weren't for the free chapter. I hope to be pleasantly surprised.
