You'll need to make sure you have no DRM on your books. Calibre, a free program, can convert them if you need to and one of it's plugins (google Apprentice Alf) will remove the DRM.

If the books are from Amazon you might find it easier just to install the Kindle app on your tablet and register it to your account and use that. I prefer Moon+ but the Kindle app is an above average reading app.
