I've replaced the battery in my Blackberry Q10 a couple times now. The problem with this theory (no battery replacement necessary) is that batteries begin losing power long before they completely wear out. So a phone (or eReader) without a replaceable battery has reduced functionality long before it has
no functionality. You end up living with a compromised device and having to constantly charge it during the day and in the car.
