I know people who do that in general for online purchases so if the account gets compromised, their main account isn't tied up. Seems like a good way to keep yourself to a budget. You could put your "fun money" budget in there every month and use that debit card for all your non-necessities. When it's done, it's done. The only problem is you have to monitor it if you don't want an overdraft charge.
