Nice. That does sound like Amazon permanently disabled ads for you without charging you the customary $20 fee. If so, that should survive a hard reset.

But yes, if you did a hard reset it would require you to register again. But if Amazon did permanently remove the special offers that should remain the case even after you re-register.

I'm not sure why you want to factory reset? I can't imagine anything short of bad file corruption (very unlikely) compelling me to do so. Keep in mind that a factory reset will mess up your jailbreak. And should you let it auto update to a newer firmware version as well you *may* not be able to jailbreak it again. It depends on a number of things that you should look into more before you actually do a factory reset.

Probably if the factory reset itself will mess your jail break up but I believe that you could still reinstall the jailbreak provided that an firmware update hasn't also occurred thanks to the hotfix design And even so you could probably do the serial jailbreak again since you have a PW3. That wouldn't be possible with say a PW4.

In any event, if you a factory reset and wish to skip registration you can either choose to defer registration during the wifi setup step. Or simply force a restart by holding the power button for about ten seconds until your Kindle restarts - and it should land you on the home screen while still unregistered.
