Kobo US is having a 60% off on science fiction sale today only, with coupon code BFWEDNESDAY, as part of their run-up to Black Friday.

The splash page is here: https://www.kobo.com/us/en/p/blackfriday2019usa

There are several categories listed, including:
  • Travel through time and space
  • Fantastical and otherworldly reads
  • In space no one can hear you scream
  • The best space operas in the universe
  • It's the end of the world as we know it
  • Take the kids on an adventure
This appears to be similar to the mystery-focused sale Kobo had yesterday, in that there are a lot of titles at full price (esp Open Road titles), where the 60% off still isn't less than a typical sale price.

However the 60% off does stack with the VIP discount if you belong to Kobo's VIP program, and it also applies to any titles on the lists that are already on sale, so if you sort each of the categories by price, and then look at the first few titles, you might find a few at worthwhile prices.

Obviously, YMMV...
