You can use our libraries' WiFi on a Laptop, but it doesn't work on a kindle.

I'd also stop buying eBooks from Amazon if they disabled the "download to PC and transfer via USB option."

Seems idiotic on many levels. WiFi or Mobile (some models) automatic update should only be an option; you should be able to decline, accept or use PC download.
Hilton hotel chain (any brand) wifi is incompatible with Kindle as well.
