Calibre26--

I've been having the same problem as you for quite awhile now. When my Kindle Voyage is connected to my computer and I'm looking at the books on my device through Calibre I can't get it to sort by author. I click on the author column in Calibre to sort and it seems to sort a few of my books in alphabetic order and then the rest are in a random order.

When I look at the books on my Voyage (when it's not connected to Calibre) and I sort by author the books sort correctly. And when I connect any of my Kobo readers to Calibre, the contents on the device will correctly sort by author.

I'm pretty sure that it doesn't have anything to do with metadata, as the books don't seem to be listed in any certain order. When I sort by another column and then try to sort by author again the books will be sorted in a different order. It doesn't seem to be completely random because as I mentioned earlier a few books will be listed in alphabetic order within the list, but most are completely out of order.

I've had this sort problem with my Voyage for quite awhile--not sure how long. I've had it through several Calibre versions (now running Calibre 4.4) and probably a few Kindle Firmware versions (now running Kindle 5.10.1.1).

I haven't tried a Factory Reset yet, but may eventually try that. I've just been living with the problem. Would be curious if there is anyone else out there that is seeing the same thing--and if anyone has found a cause/solution.

I do have quite a few books on my Kindle (a little of 1,300), but don't see why this would cause this sort of problem.
