Hmm, I received the Boox Max 3 a few days ago and haven't had exactly this problem, but others related to the USB port. Stuff such as I would have difficulties moving files or getting it recognized, otherwise for a little while my laptop was trying to charge *from* the Boox.

Have you tried other cables and also rebooting your device and or laptop? It could be worth a try. I am using a Nintendo Switch cable with a MacBook charger because they were already plugged in on my power strip. I haven't tried the cable included in the box.

As a fellow new user, don't forget to add a compatible cloud account such as OneNote. It helped simplify my workflow, which I admit still isn't as smooth as when I worked with an iPad... but the note taking experience with the built in app is definitely on par.
