So I bought the HP - 14z Laptop from the early Black Friday sale (at HP.com). I upgraded the memory to 8gb which required upgrading the harddrive (I went with the SSD one).
The added cost means I won't be buying the external harddrive I'd planned on, but just under $300 for a new laptop isn't a bad birthday/Christmas present to myself
