For the most part I have found that the series information listed in Calibre translates correctly over to my new Pocketbook, however I've seen a few issues that I can't explain, and was hoping there was a non-obvious answer to that I have so far overlooked.
Scenario 1:
I have two books in Calibre, that have correct series metadata. So essentially:
- Series Name [1]
- Series Name [2]
When I send them to the device, both books arrive, but only one arrives with the series. The other is treated as if it has no series information at all.
Scenario 2:
I have a series with an intermediate entry marked as 2.50. So essentially:
- Series Name [1]
- Series Name [2]
- Series Name [2.50]
- Series Name [3]
When I send them to the device, all four books arrive, but the book marked as 2.50 is listed as book 2, and the book marked as 2 is treated as if it has no series information at all.
Scenario 3:
I have The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, with the Hobbit having no series information. So essentially:
- The Hobbit
- The Fellowship of the Ring - Lord of the Rings [1]
- The Two Towers - Lord of the Rings [2]
- The Return of the King - Lord of the Rings [3]
When I send them to the device, all four books arrive, but The Hobbit is somehow marked as being part of the Lord of the Rings series. It has no series index associated with it, it is just treated as if it were the 0th entry in the series.
This last scenario makes me suspect that there may be somewhere else that the Pocketbook is pulling the series information from than just the metadata sent by Calibre, but I cannot figure out where. I could not find anywhere in The Hobbit epub itself that listed it as part of the Lord of the Rings, but I may have missed something.
Any light that could be shed would be wonderful.
