Hi, I have had similar problem and by now I can do the the procedures that follow in serial jailbreaking.
Firs I have got data between Putty and PW3.The problem was that the blue wire that indicates the procedure is NOT necessary. Without this cable communication is fluid and the touch screen began to response.
Second, to get the uboot command line I press the ket Return immediatly just when the system start. Then I can see the command line.
Finaly I continue with the procedure press options in the kindle touch screen.
