aliexpress has some displays, not sure if one is compatbile with clara
not even sure which screen type Clara is actually using, maybe open it up, unplug the display cable and check the label?
you could also watch ebay for clara with other defects, like a broken USB port... maybe the display is still good.
I bought a defective H2O from Ebay (basically paid shipping only) then a replacement display from aliexpress, so 30-35€ totals. Unfortunately, the replacement display is not perfect (developed a defective pixel row/column) but would still be servicable as a reader regardless... I use it for experimenting only
If you have high expectations, want a perfect device, buying new (with warranty and return if unhappy) is pretty much the only option. ebay/aliexpress is a bit of a gamble.
