Kindle Paperwhite 2013 touch screen not responsive

Hi,

Following up from this thread https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=320178, in which my Kindle Paperwhite 2 (2013) touch screen is not responsive suddenly. The only way to get the screen working again is let the battery is fully drained then after you recharge, the touch screen can work for a while then unresponsiveness happens again!

I have tried many ways: full charge with wall charger, leave it in days, put it in refrigerator, factory reset, upload firmware, ... None of that solved!

Assumed that the issue can be somewhere and if we disconnect the battery, the issue can be solved, then I have opened the case, removed the battery for a while, reconnect it and ... the issue persists.

My Kindle is already 5-year old and the battery may not be in good condition. Is it a possibility that changing new battery can solve this issue?

Any help would be highly appreciated.
