Bummer. Sorry for your loss.

I am now going to ponder the philosophical implications of "bricking" a lost device. Will it be more likely to be returned? Since it was not stolen, is it better for it to end up in a landfill instead of being used by the hands of whoever found it or was given it afterwards?

Seriously, contact the cab company. They might have it.
