With coupons available now it was US$13 !!!

We'll see how it goes. Getting a VISA card registered was a PITA. I kept getting "system error. system is busy tre again later: or similar. It wouldn't just accept all the card details typed in one time. If I could have bought on Ebay with PP I would have. A have bought on Aliexpress before but not for a few years. I suppose it is a good thing it requires reregistering. Painful as it is.
Geez. Did I really leave it that long to fix my reader?

I just wanted to update the list that the screen I ordered does work. The firmware image also works no problems. So thanks David again.

I refreshed the double sided tape that holds the screen down to the circuit board. Only use very thin tape such as used for mounting photographs. You don't want to stress the screen at all by trying to squeeze it when closing the case again. I didn't replace the adhesive around the front of the case that sticks to the front of the display. This was the source of me originally cracking the screen when I tried to open the ereader to get to the SD card inside. It was still sticky. Hopefully enough.

I applied the screen in position before attempting to secure the connecting cable in the connector. I was concerned about getting it mounted squarely without the restriction of a cablefolded over.

Perhaps some carefully applied heat might reduce the stresses on the display when opening it up.

I don't know if this is the best advice available but it did work for me. At least don't make the mistakes I made.
