Seriously though, I'd like a reader with the Oasis lighting and the Libra body, that combines the best software features from both. (For example, I can't zoom in on maps and images when reading epub on the Libra, but the kepub layout is inferior to the epub layout. There are no such problems on the Oasis.)

In what way is AZW3 layout not the same as Kepub layout? AFAIK, with 1 exception, the limitators of Kepub (forced minimum line height, no ligatures) are the same as AZW3.
(the exception is measurements in actually length, like 2 inch indents or margins. Kobo Kepub does not calculate DPI, and uses a fixed 'guess' based on resolutions from the 160 DPI days.)
