Oh gosh, I start out with a single (x)html file, add the title and the style sheet link, page down to the end of the title page, split following the last character (usually the s in Books), and do the same for each subsequent section or chapter. Ah, ok, no worries. I thought there was some function I was totally oblivious to. I do think Calibre has a function to split on headings when it converts, but I haven't used it.
