Thanks,

I'm not sure about what you are suggeting. Am I to go into the individual book records, delete the .azw3 files that I do not want to be using to "set metadata from ebook file", then set the metadata from the remaining book files, then restore the deleted .azw3 files using previous versions? Or the restore? Not sure what you are suggesting. Does Calibre restore library restore deleted books? I'm not sure if that is what you are saying.

If it helps any, when I say "restore" I am refering to the library function "restore library" and not setting the metadata from .ebook files. I am interested in knowing if setting the records from the files is the same as restoring a library that is missing the .opf files.
As well as choosing which specific files I can set the metadata from, should I choose to do so in bulk edit.

Also, I did know that Calibre uses the .opf files, but many times they are missing from my older libraries and when I restore, it's like I get the book records directly from the book.

Thanks again!
