Thanks theducks! I appreciate the feedback. I thought I'd be OK since it's they are both Macs, and it's not a NAS, if's a mounted filesystem.
I like the way you phrased that second line, so I'm not going to risk it. I'd hate to lose the data due to trying to optimize a workflow.
Time to start working on getting a server up and running on my network instead.
