I've now updated my main Linux laptop after testing on the old one.
If anything the 4.2 Calibre is faster and the new viewer is faster. Both are configured almost identically to how I had them before.
Converted two locally written docx to epub, dual mobi and azw/KF8 and about 20 imported ebooks from Gutenberg (removed paragraph spacing and smartened punctuation).
Previewed in viewer before transfer to the Kobo Libra.
