William J Makin (1893-1944) saw active duty during WW1, and turned to writing fiction in 1920. He had a prolific output and a wide scope, from pulp adventure to fantasy and sf to crime and detective.
One of his continuing characters was Paul Rodgers, "the Red Wolf of Arabia", who had many adventures between the wars; another was Isaac Heron, the Gypsy detective.
This collection contains an assortment of his short fiction from magazine sources.
