Exactly, and what if the book you want to purchase is cheaper elsewhere? If you don't remove the DRM, you'll be limited to buying only from Amazon. I often find that Google Play or Kobo has the cheaper version, so I buy from them and convert for my Kindles. And vice versa, of course... I can read books purchased from Amazon on my Kobo and my Nook.
