Okay, who is guilty?

Okay, who is guilty?

Guilty of keeping a copy of all their ebooks on every device they own, if more than one?

I used to be, and sort of still are to a degree, though since signing up to BookBub and getting heaps of freebies from Amazon via them, I now only automatically place ebooks on my devices, that I paid something for ... or if I collect that author.

Even then, while most of the freebies remain on the cloud awaiting selection, I do keep a copy of everything in Kindle For PC. In fact, K4PC is my default for every purchase ... so they download to that automatically, and I have full control over what ends up on my devices. I also only keep copies of those ebooks with graphical elements on my 10" Samsung tablet (and maybe some on my Paperwhite).

However, I am now at that point, where both my Kindles are close to full, and I have started removing less important ebooks from them, to accommodate more preferred new ones.

Supplementary question for some - When you get a new device, what do you do in regard to previous purchases, now that you have a quite large library of them?

Of course, many ebooks have a limit, so you aren't allowed to have them on too many devices ... that limit usually being around 6 copies, if I recall rightly ... and that includes on the Kindle Apps (PC etc).

I intend to seriously limit what goes on my next device purchase, especially at the thought of the time needed to download all I have.

Of course, it can be a tough choice sometimes. Even though I love my Kindle Keyboard, generally I prefer to read on the Paperwhite, because of the better lighting.

So I guess another question for some owners, is - Do you prefer to read on your newest device, and does that mean your older devices barely get a look in, if ever?

Me, I am quite happy to read all text only ebooks on the Paperwhite, and can't imagine that would change with a new device purchase, as the Paperwhite works so well. That would mean of course, that unless a new device has some amazing new feature, I would probably only read recent ebook acquisitions on it ... or perhaps if a different format (i.e. I got a Kobo etc instead of Kindle).
