? What kind of backup? A simple file copy to that HD from the OLD location?
Then that is a functional Library right where it is (if you choose). Switch/Create: Use Existing: <select the Library folder>
If it was a Calibre Export/Import (on the Library Icon)
Run that (Import ) on your MAC. Yup! That simple. Everything
I am not positive about MAC's, but on Linux and PC's you just replace the CONTENTS of the Calibre Configuration Folder.
CALIBRE SHOULD BE SHUTDOWN when doing any FILESYSTEM type copy
When you first restart, you will need to use Create/Switch: use wxisting to locate your library.
You may need to run the Quality Check Plugin to find and
FIX filename issues.
THEN run Library Maintenance, to fix the rest
