As has been said, the embargo is mostly going to affect those who want to read the book
now, so they can partake in the chatter. Only so many of them were going to be at or near the front of the waitlist anyway. Essentially I don't see this resulting in a lot of additional sales, but I have no objection to publishers trying it as a tactic.
