What you show in your screen shots is exactly what got me going in the Editor some years ago. It is all fixable, and even enjoyable if you like challenges in logic.

Can't teach the editor in a post, of course. Look for videos on YouTube about the Calibre editor...there are some good ones and plenty of bad ones, but at least they will show you the screens and some basic navigation and operations. The Calibre User Manual is a huge help. Search and replace is the tool I use most in fixing these things, both plain and regex. Most of the regex and html coding you will need to know is very much at the simple end of the scale, so pretty easy to learn or figure out.
