My sister was able to use her Kindle Touch (when it was fairly new) on a winter camping trip when the temps were hovering between -5F and 0F. She kept it in her jacket pocket and apparently that keeps it warm enough to operate. On another occasion, she unintentionally left it overnight in her car where it got down to -15F (-26C). She let it completely warm up before turning on and it worked fine. It still works today, however, I would imagine it wouldn't survive repeated freezings.
